Taking a screenshot from your MacBook is not that much difficult task. It’s easy to capture the desktop screen. A user can capture the entire window or just a particular area of his choice which is automatically saved to the desktop. The file is saved in such format that it can be used as an image to send in an email attachment and can be imported in MS word file.
This can be done as follows:
Method 1st: Capture full screen:
- Open the view which you want to capture.
- Make sure the screen displays accurately what you wish to take in a snapshot.
- Press Command+Shift+3 on your keyboard. If in case, the sound is enabled on the system then it will make a slight camera shutter noise.
- By default, the screenshot is saved on the desktop with the name “screenshot” (or Picture #) including date and time.
Method 2nd: Capture particular area:
- Open the view on the desktop which you want to capture.
- Make sure the screen displays accurately what you wish to take in a snapshot.
- Press Command+Shift+4 on your keyboard.
- The cursor will change into “+” (Plus) shape with a circle which will allow you to select a particular area to take a screenshot.
- Now, you have to select the area by clicking and dragging the cursor. The selection area will appear in grayish color. If you wish to exit the window press Escape key.
- Remove the finger from the mouse and the screen is captured. A brief camera shutter noise will occur on the system if Mac’s sound is turned on.
- The screenshot captured is saved on the desktop display by default.
